Illegal Home Occupation Business in West Bountiful, UT
A Home Occupation Business License at address 1201 N 600 W was granted to Janessa Alder Washburn on 1/23/23 by an unspecified West Bountiful City employee. The license should not have been granted
or renewed because the person participating in the business must reside at the home, and actually does not reside at the home. She lives with her husband at 515 S 400 W in Centerville. There is a
guest house near the back of the property with parking spaces. This is item #4 on the Home Occupation Business License Application. Where the person lives is also stated in the Owner Address portion
of the Home Occupation Renewal Application. Also, the applicant certifies she provided notice to the owners of property within a 300 foot radius. Interestingly, Duncan Alder (adopted, age 18)
on December 15, 2025, stated the reason I was not notified was because, in his words, I am a bum. He also stated that the document was signed off by the other neighbors. He would not show me the document, fictitious or otherwise. Falsifying an application should be enough to close down this business but nothing has ever been done. I reported this business as being illegal on 4/9/2024 and on
some later dates as recent as Nov. 20, 2025. I also reported this at the City Council Meeting over a year ago on August 6, 2024.

Home Occupation Business License Rules
Here is a picture of the vehicle (Kia SUV) the dog groomer drives to start work at 9AM. Seems odd there is a home occupation business but that this dog groomer does not even live there.
The dog groomer actually parks at the house next door due to a large portion of the curb being cut out in front of 1201 N 600W.
Can we all just cut city curbs or did they have a permit?
